A Principal in London of Nova Capital Partners LLC, a niche New York based investment bank focusing on the emerging markets globally. She is a former corporate and project finance lawyer in the London office of the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and prior to that in the Caribbean law firm Dunn, Cox, Orrett & Ashenheim in its Kingston and Providenciales offices. Vanessa has also been an entrepreneur having launched, raised substantial finance for and managed a start-up business in the City of London. She has also served on secondment for a year as Acting Legal Director within a London plc group in the public-private-partnership (PPP) infrastructure, transport and services sectors. Vanessa holds a master of law (LLM) degree from Cambridge University (Queens College) focusing on corporate, securities and commercial law and a former bachelor of law (LLB) from the University of the West Indies focusing on corporate, trust and international law.
